lol you are all reaching about hori's supposed homophobia. In fact i think she is the most open to gay relationships. She literally has a girl who loves her and not once has hori invalidated her feelings. And hori not wanting miya to date a guy is because she is open to that fact that miya attracts a lot of men and the likelihood of him dating men. Which is why she is threatened by guys and not girls. Girls she can win against, guys she cant.

this was 2011 modern japan and as far as ive learned its had its fair share of prejudice and hate for homosexuality. just wanted to put that out - im not claiming the author is depicting that in the story but theres a possibility. but i honestly dont think hori's homophobic or atleast the author didnt intend for it. he probably put it out as a passing comment and didnt put much thought

you guys, see it this way.
women: she can easily over power them and tell them to fuck off
men: well, its a different story. and also it seems like miyamura attracts more guys than girls so that seems to be the reason as well
but i will admit she does sound kinda homophobic and ignorant when she says "it has to be a woman, not a man" also i think the reason why she did not disregard the girl who had a crush on her, was because she did not take it seriously from the start. you could tell she didnt actually think that girl liked her and that she was just a cute kouhai, nothing more nothing less.
i dont understand why she's not okay with men though. all in all i bet there wasn't any harm intended but it is indeed ignorant and rude, even if you try to disregard that or brush it off as lighthearted
today on maybe horimiya shouldnt have been adapted into an anime-- the people are trying to cancel hori for homophobia
