Laoban is not his name, it's Chinese for "boss". So that's why his subordinates call him that. :) But of course it may still vary with translations, as some may choose an English term, like boss or master.
I wondered that myself, but perhaps the 'ban' on Lao is a Chinese honorific and the Lao is a misspelling or slightly off translation of Liu? Maybe??

Does anybody know why Feilong is called Fei Laoban in the beginning (chapter 2) and later on he's called Feilong? I mean if it were Lui Feilong it would make sense due to his adoptiva father and all but... maybe it's just a different tranlation? ╮(￣▽￣)╭ Thank you! (づ￣ ³￣)づ
