I think she believes Bono to be the one who will somehow turn into a dragon to destroy the world (I forgot the beginning, it was the dragon who destroyed the world, right?) That's why she doesn't realize she got the wrong cat.

I remember she thought it was bobo in the beginning. She must be slow then, because in the new chapters she was starting to put the pieces together about potnam’s personality and powers. But her final conclusion, he must be a small dog! So she didn’t even think the other possibility is that he’s the dragon.

She wasn't looking for a dragon but the prince of the beast men. In the original story she read, Clarence had been gifted the prince (even though neither she nor the gifted knew he was a prince) and then kicked him out causing him to become angry and bitter and then aim for destroying the world as a result. When the abandoned prince was in the process of destroying the world, astin was killed, therefore she strove to find the prince first to avoid that ending and live happily surrounded by animals.
So I’m guessing she forgot the beginning of the story? One of the reasons she bought the cats is because she knew one of them is the dragon. She does mention the destruction of the world but she doesn’t talk about the dragon anymore. Oh well we’ll just have to wait and see how this goes ╮(￣▽￣)╭ Plus Bobo is just too cute! (≧∀≦)
