yo i was thinking that his mother is some scientist and Jiwoo has been experimented as a kid HAHAHA then hes gonna be able to learn how to use all the power that his past opponents used on him HAHAGAGAHA
but dont forget that Jiwoo is also extremly hard working. Even Kayden says it a bunch of times how hes impressed with Jiwoo how he never give up and keeps working to better himself i dont think that Jiwoo is a mary sue protagonist i like that he lost a lot in the beginning and took those chances to make himself stronger. And with Kaden as him teacher well he'll just become op like his teacher
