That may be True but she got permission to Renovate the castle to their liking although she lacks Knowledge for renovating or Supplies needs. That doesn't give him the authority to cut down almost what was needed to renovate that shabby castle of Theirs.

He is right tho.. Riftan has worked his ass off all this year and she was planing to spend way to much in things that weren't necessary.. Ruth is so good... maybe here you can understand why but reading the novel, I was completely shocked with how much she wanted to spend.. so give him some credit... and not he will not get his a@@ whooped

She was being manipulated by the salesman. She didn't even know how much she was spending when she put in those orders. Which makes it scarier. She needs someone to teach her the value of money and to tell show her everything she was buying wasn't necessary to make the castle look luxurious. The worst thing she could do is spend a lot of money on unnecessary things and make the whole kingdom broke. Which means taxes/prices goes up and her husband would have to work hard to restore that money. Everyone would hate her. Ruth is doing everything for her own good and she knows it.

If the stuckup magician didn't do it tho, the only ass who'd get whooped is riftan's. He'd be forced to fight monsters and do dungeon crawls just to make up for the would-be expenses and to maintain such unnecessary extravagance.
