In China when you’re born you’re automatically 1 years old.
But they start high school at 16 years and she still looks younger compared to other women in the story both her and her classmates be it male or female has a difference in height compared to the adults. So I'm so confused at the age they are giving us doesn't seem possible
I was 18 last year and I think I was 5'9 since I was 16 but I definitely looked my age in my face but when I was 18 you could also clearly tell I didn't look that way anymore. These characters that goes to school with her all look extremely young compared to the age they have stated.

Because you can get held back? In my last year of high school the oldest one in our year was 23 at that point, but she had learning disabilities. In some countries where releating a year isn't weird, like France, it's not that strange.
