Her gaze looked sad....

It's because she knows she'll never get that time back. She's still a strong girl and a good mom. It's not like she doesn't love her child, but I'm sure a part of her will always be sad she had her child so early. The reality is she can never change this so she has to make the most of her life. I choose to believe this couple will be okay and have a good future together.
