i didnt read the novel but he prob needs the concubines to create connections to avoid war or shizz

seeing as she lives away from everyone and has no idea who he is (even tho 90% of us assume he is the emperor/king) it makes sense for him to have many for political reasons and to never actually visit them !
this seems like a rlly good story but it rlly throws me off knowing he has 29 other concubines.
