I see that people are confused about the plot. I understand the plot, but I find it very silly. Technically this guy, Yoosu, has been living isolated in his home for a while now because of two reasons. 1. The tree, and 2. The tree (probably). Yoosu used to have a wife who liked to grow plants, but she left him because he couldn’t go outside or men would jump at him. Why? Probably side effects of eating the fruit. Apparently he’s the only one who can eat it without getting sick. Now, according to the doctor, the tree feeds on semen and the so called “tree melons” are made of it too. Since there was no one around except Yoosu, it is safe to assume the tree ate his semen... we can also briefly see all the sexual harassment done by the tree in a brief flashback in ch. 4 and ch. 1 lol. In ch. 1, we learn that the tree comes from outer space (or at least that’s what the police man? Said). Because Yoosu doesn’t have a house anymore, he is gonna live with the police man? (I really don’t know what he is) for the time being. So to sum it up; a tree from outer space destroys a marriage, isolates a man from society, makes him susceptible to rape, and leaves him without a house. 90% of this is just rambling from my part so I apologize if it’s messy or if it makes it more confusing, but this is what I understood from the first 5 chapters (￣∇￣")
