ignore this but apparently people can still read the spoilers through the reply headings, I'm just trying to type a lot, and hopefully this takes up enough space for the spoiler not to show

it's KDJ's memories
in the end of the novel in the subway scene he gave 49% to his avatar and kept the remaining 51%. Later when KDJ Company tried to save him, he sacrificed himself by scattering the rest of his memories throughout the timelines, but there was a remaining 1% that was left in the kidified KDJ who was comatose.
This is why i avoid reading the ending. Its hurt so much bcuz dokja keep sacrifying for his companions ans his family so that they keep living. Thats how much worth his companions and family to him. And yoo jonghyuk really is his life and death companion bucz yjh's story keep him alive so he pay yjh back with his story to keep all of them alive. Ah i feel sad again. I always cry when dokja sacrified himself.

in short, I think it ends pretty happy ending and don't worry none of his party members die in the end
not to spoil everything but
After completing the final scenario, they all ride a subway back to the complex and everyone gets off except KDJ, HSY, and YJH. They ask our MC if he is also getting off with them and uses lie detector (can't blame them for having trust issues). He says ofc and they all get off. You later you see the subway leaving with KDJ in it watching himself and his friends happily walking back to the complex. Their "story" ends with his final sacrifice (won't spoil the reason bc it's just too good). In reality, he put 49% of his memories in an avatar (skill he gets later on) and kept the 51% for himself.
In the epilogue his friends realize that the KDJ that they're with is an avatar and they try to save him. Once they eventually reach him, KDJ scatters the rest of his memories/consciousness into different worldlines and is in a comatose state. So in order to revive him, HSY writes all their stories and adventures they've lived through in a novel called "Omniscient Reader" (yes, the novel we have been reading, so damn meta) and YJH distributes these stories to different world lines where alternate KDJ's exist.
The ending can be seen as open ended bc it ends with the reactions of the party members without giving us any description of KDJ's status and ends with the line "The story is just for that one reader". It's a very meta ending bc user @gragill's words " it is the personification of one of the themes of the story of some stories becoming so strong that they live thanks to the imagination of the readers." Bc we are reading the novel that HSY created (Omniscient Reader), we as readers are suppose to keep the story (their story) living by imagining what happened after this ending. So that is the reason why I say it's a happy ending.
you can read the novel at https://boxnovel.com/novel/omniscient-readers-viewpoint-boxnovel/. To answer your questions:
HSY, KDJ, and YJH are the three main protagonists of this novel. HSY = Han Sooyoung is actually a character that will be introduced at the end of this new arc the webtoon is currently on.

It is up to the reader if he lives in the end, but in my opinion yes I think he lives in the end. Won't tell you why he sacrifices himself (srry lol, you just got to read it it's worth it), but yes he does this to essentially save people. KDJ sends an avatar to be w/ his friends, while he remained hidden in the subway and came out after everyone left. And since he put in a ton of his memories in his avatar, we can't really say that the avatar is fake bc it is still KDJ, the group is just trying to save all of KDJ (51% that remained in the subway). His past trauma is of his mom murdering his abusive dad (it's a bit more complicated than that but that's the jist)
Just mention these numbers .
