Um well you had to imagine your ending of this story that's basically the ending of ORV ;;

Kdj was in a state of comatose for how many years because he split his consciousness and the one left behind on earth was only 41%(?) of him and the party members (specifically yoo joonghyuk & han sooyoung) try to revive him by writing their story/adventures and to distribute it to other worldlines where alternate universe kim dokjas exist so he could read it and his consciousness would come back. In the end, with yjh almost dying as well, he managed to distribute the stories to the worldlines and when he came back, it is implied that kdj has finally woken up.
The ending is actually an open-ending and it is up to us readers to complete it. I hope i explained it well LOL

Mhm literally what madaze said another way I think of it is thinking this novel as basically the novel han sooyoung and yjh wrote for all the pieces of kdj’s spread out consciousness. At least that’s how I interpret it.... not sure if that the authors intention....
There's a comment that the ending is somewhat a mixed emotions can someone spoil how it ended?
