No I think it was he thought he was a rapist and then realised it was just a hermit who hasn't slept in 2weeks .... It think

I don’t know about that. The last few pages are where he decides he’s a “rapist”. The beginning of the story is when it might be more likely to just think he’s sleep deprived.
