How can someone look at the FL and not see a person who's been systematically abused from a very early age? There's weak MCs and then there's trauma. Expecting this girl to be strong in any way after spending 26 years being beaten, isolated, starved and in constant danger of rape is ridiculous. Right now she's just constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. She will need a lot of support and time to heal before she can finally accept that her new reality isn't going to disappear if only she starts asserting herself more.
