The main point is two people with different standing became friendly rivals. One is a genuine backward village orphan unloved by mana, the other is a orphan prince loved by mana. Yuno has superior background and yet Asta is able to stand in the same line as him which shows his perseverance and tenacity. Although asta being magic emperor by default is not good though. Plus anti-magic can't be too op. Anti-magic itself is already op if he can weave anti-magic itself like how magic is used it would be a broken character. It's restricted to the sword and his body which is not too op. Remember that liebe is supposed to be weakest demon. Author probably wants us to show asta who's manaless yet strong willed and liebe has no magic yet have a unique power. 2 weak people together their strong.

These justification for ASTA always trailing Yuno is funny, your right he's weak his demon is weak his mom is weak and I blip in a chapter, if your premise is right this storyline is even more fucked up than I thought, ASTA NEVER STAND NECK AND NECK WITH YUNO EVERY TIME ASTA GETS AN UPGRADE A WACK ON AT THAT YUNO IS ALL OP FOR NO REASON, AGAIN THE POOR BOY WITH NO MANA LIKE I SAID SHOULD HAVE JUST MADE YUNO THE MC

And two weak people just make a regular person and like I said they use that relentless to push away the fact that when he started he may have wanted asta to be the MC but some where along the way He made it Yuno, and it's just annoying and no one will make me believe differently

Remember Yuno gets an Arc Asta gets a chapter but he's equal you say

It can be seen that asta and liebe are portrayed as weak because the standards is mana level in their world but changed it to another perspective combining anti-magic and superior physical strength is may not be really that weak. In many shounen mangas this rival characters are always prince or op characters. Rivals are usually the opposite type of the mc. The point is talent and background isn't everything. There's no satisfaction if asta is like yuno who was chosen and have ridiculous luck. Honestly asta and yuno isn't that much different from other shounen characters with rivalry. Yuno doesn't even have that much screen time. Although he has a whole arc it's not actually focuses on him but the kingdom. You can't create an arc on asta's background because the main point is he's ordinary.

That's the main Point nt your taking from it, as I myself have watched many shounen as well a whole lot, I disagree with you there, the rivalry that Asta and Yuno have doesn't really show up everywhere lkke you say, most of the time it's like Asta and I forgot the fire dudes name but like that a mutual respect for the person understanding thier true worth, however Yuno seem to lack that if you ask me him being a royal fits as he constantly looks down on Asta just like the rest of the royals did and honestly he only call Asta a rival because he stole his dream to be wizard King, if he was meant to be so ordinary like you say then why give him such an extraordinary start just to let him finish behind no!, most of them don't go like this at all and it makes no since that an Arc can't be built around Asta because he's ordinary, that garbage he could have went into depth about Asta's mom and dad but they just wrapped it up with some garbage about his mom taking people magic which cut his Arc right there given the fact that in order for her to conceive Asta she dad to date a regular human, so eve thing happened for him by accident really, not chosen like he portrayed in the beginning but a fucking accident of the lowest kind a trash demon a trash mom and a trash background, like I said he's WACK he can't ever be the wizard king he will never be strong enough this whole shit is moot if he becomes wizard king that makes this whole manga even more stupid because as he wrote this character he definitely NOT QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB...

Heart doesn't make you stronger it makes you think you are, he can only go so far with lack of magic he has and he can't fight the enemies that come with that alone come on look at that devil the lowest, in all of the characters I've seen with anti-magic his was the most promising talk about a let down any growth now just seems forced...
