black characters are hard to draw. That's not a politically correct idea, but it's true. It's not the structure of the body or face. It's shading and when publishing on an offset press there's color gain, which means that the character's features can gradually get obscured by the amount of black ink it takes to do justice to their skin color. Also you know, far fewer artists are practiced at drawing black people. The highlights on the faces of black people are so beautiful, though, that I'm sure a lot more of that art is coming. at any rate, Under Grand Hotel http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/under_grand_hotel/ has a black lead character. It's older so maybe you already saw it. Anyway, to be fair, it's really not weird at all. Change is coming but it takes time. Curious why you think it's just weird.

thanks for replies, but i just thought its weird since theres so many stories out there and for me I couldnt see any. But I didnt know they are hard to draw so thx for the insite.

Thx for suggestions, mostly i was referring to iseki stories (the ones where the mc goes into a different world) like beware the villainess, not bl or yaois. I have not seen any ones of these story lines with black charcaters or mc. Its nothing personal, after all I know the reasons for it.

who is iseki?

Isekai is a type of manga, anime or comic where someone gets transported or reincarnated into a different world. They are everywhere and yet I have yet to see one with black mc. Just telling you what isekai is, it might be a difffernt name to you tho.
