Am I I the only one that thinks this?

The show of racism in this book just makes me laugh. Like I didn't think that they would put it in here but they did and I'm glad but is it just me but sometimes it's a little extra.

It really is to that extent. The medical field is one that is incredibly conservative - it is a field dominated mostly by men (white men in the United States) and word of mouth/a bad reputation can literally ruin you even if you did nothing wrong. POCs and women/transgender people are very often looked down upon/treated as lesser or shamed for certain things even though there are discrimination laws. If you look up "medkini" it was a big issue where female doctors/nurses were shamed because there was a picture of a female doctor/nurse in a bikini on her vacation and a lot of the conservative side of the medical community lost their minds. Obviously not every medical professional is discriminatory like that but it's bad.

you’re very much correct, medical field is extremely racist, a lot of studies still go back to “ black women can’t feel pain “ and a lot of studies are for white straight males.

yea i’m not that educated much on medical field but it’s true, a lot of medical symptom and psychological issues don’t take people of color, and women into consideration. a lot of black women are more likely to die in child labor and surgeries, theres a lot of truth to be uncovered, but it’s always covered up or water down by white supremacy and misogyny, i’ve heard people in the field talking about it it’s so important to listen to women and poc regarding matters like this. America didn’t just progress out of nowhere, people of color specifically black people were sacrificed for studies, and racism goes way back, the past doesn’t just change. It gets water down and covered, or is only shown in subtle manners for image that they need to uphold. I’m rlly not that educated, you should look into it more yourself if you’re interested:0

I meant only black people were sacrificed and tortured for white people’s little experiment, not people of color.

Mostly black people were sacrificed but there were some POCs sacrificed too. But the overlying issue is that all POCs are treated like sh*t for no reason besides people being prejudiced.

yes but i was talking specifically about medical field during slavery and after math, black people were treated like lab rats, and things were done to them w/o consent. i’m so sick of everything being so covered up even the history itself we’re taught i’m more likely to hear poc voices than a white person ofc
