I think the crystals are coming from Lachia (excuse my spelling). The half elf lives in Lachia, and that's where she is getting it from, but they don't know that it's the duchy that is supporting the crystals. Lachia is a place, while the duchy is a title of sorts. If bad guy wins war, he'll get the land and the half elf will ha e no choice but to tell him where it is....I think
