I think is because if you don't know that the butterfly is poisonous, you will not be really alert around her, and apparently they can just go through the walls, being really effective to kill someone difficult to get near. They probably inject their poison biting the person or just going inside their body, not being necessary to eat them to get poisoned.
The butterflies... Well, how the fuck could a butterfly kill? If they’re poisonous then if no one eats them it can’t kill anyone right? And if they should inject venom (so not poison) into the veins of the one they should kill it has to have a different « beak » than butterflies to pierce through skin (and the fact that they drink blood, they are just pretty mosquitos if you ask me _(:0 」∠)_ )
