I'm from Germany and here it's like that too! Like in many other European countries as well. Shoes are dirty as hell, can't comprehend how one wants them in the bed or inside at all

In Poland in most of houses it's more or less required to change shoes at the doorstep. Exception is maybe for quick quests who comes and goes in 5 minutes, but in your own home it's common to change shoes to slippers.
