from what i ready previously was that apparently that creepy fucking priest or whatever thinks shuli is a demon or smt? he fell in love with her at first sight and he thought it was the work of a demon? DEMON MY ASS HES JUST A PSYCHO.

What I understood was that the church believes that only those faithful to God should be kept alive. Or that they were afraid of the nobles and royalty gaining too much power leading to their religion's demise.

Because Shuli's family is powerful, with great backing to the Royal family and quite a few strong connections, if the church created a weakness in 'that' family (ultimately leading to Shuli's death) the people and the Royal family would have to 'rely' on the churches power.

Basically the pope and priests were full of greed, whether that be money, power or faith, and decided to cause a disruption that would make people pray to God - building their power. Since Shuli's "husband" died, that was their chance.

... I don't have a clue as to whether this is correct, but once again, it is what I've understood. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Basically what athy above said, since this family is quite powerful and high up there and since she’s really smart and ruled the family w a iron fist (not being used by other people for conventional means) the church want to get rid of this “powerful” and famous/infamous marchioness to weaken the empire’s influence that even a high noble was still killed in such grotesque way and boost the church influence. People will start praying and coming to church to maybe seek peace and blessing so they won’t become like show shuli died (being chopped up and scattered) while at the same time people will be more distrustful to the empire’s power since how could they trust them if they can’t even protect a powerful marchioness from being killed by “bandit”

He is a sick Fuck.. Like in that chapter he gave his explanation and its an honor she gets to die for God or something.. And that shit prince knew this skunk priest is manipulative and he didn't do nothing from the start.. Like I want the prince and this garbage to be dead horribly like how Shuli died.. That’s how she died in the first life sighsss I really hope when they chopped her into piece she was already died so that she doesn’t have to be traumatize and experience being chopped smh. But judging from how she reacted in the first or second chapter after she woke up from second life she prob doesn’t know her body state so thank goodness.
