This is basically "flashbacks" yes, but to be honest it should be considered more of a "rewind". Sorry, this'll be really long, but there's so many details to this story I can't make it shorter without leaving important things out.
This is what happened after Shuli died in the original timeline - the Ohara girl told her to leave, and that Jeremy didn't want her at the wedding, so she believed her and left as soon as the kids were all out of the house preparing. On the way to the villa she was murdered on the plans of that priest. Her guard finds her crashed carriage and most likely mutilated body. Meanwhile, the kids are excited because they believe they'll come home, bring Shuli to the wedding as a surprise, and then they'll be a big, happy family. They go home and are told Shuli left already, and go tell Jeremy at what's probably the wedding venue. Obviously it doesn't line up, but Jeremy puts two and two together and correctly concludes that Ohara told Shuli she wasn't needed/wanted. It pisses him off and he holds off the actual marriage until she arrives at the venue, only to receive news that his stepmother has been found brutally murdered in a forest by some "bandits". I don't think he believes that because as you can see in the last chapter, he gets angry and starts attacking. Meanwhile, it looks like the emperor sends Nora, who's grown up, and apparently a kind of "sword" for the empire, to properly investigate Shuli's cause of death, but is commanded to not reveal any truths about her death to anyone, except for the emperor, obviously. And that's where it is for now.
ALSO, I looked back and I didn't examine the panel where Jeremy grabs a sword properly. He DOES believe the "accusation" that Shuli's knight was the one who killed her (though he actually was just the one who found the scene and her body). When he does this, he takes the sword with the intention of killing the knight in order to avenge Shuli's death.
guys this is still flashbacks right and also wtf is happening
