It's a case of Stockholm syndrome at it's finest. In simple terms the two had experienced the "I cannot live without the other no matter what" type of feeling. Each letting the leash go, but Hyunsung's leash was better released then how the stalker released him. However Hyunsung's feelings for the stalker were made by the Stockholm syndrome case even though he wasn't held prisoner he was still subjected to the same principle and in the end when his life that was taken care of returned to normal he broke.
Honestly it's a overly touched theme, but it's rare to see it played on both sides like this.
