What’s that black thing?

When the dragon was born, before killing the evil plant, it was chasing something. When I read that chapter, I initially that it was born from Natalie’s flower. But it looked like a black cat, so I was thinking it’s the divine beast black panther. However, that beast plant bloomed later; so what was the dragon chasing?

I still think it was the black Panther...
I dont know about sorcerers but don't witches have familiar?
If the plant was fake and she used magic to make her plant "bloom" with the panther inside it would make sense why we saw it
