The crazy ex husband killed her bc he was super jealous that she sent a letter the Raphael to rescue her. He interpreted the letter as her still being in love with Raphael and that sent him over the edge.
Basically her crazy ex likes to collect beautiful things and abuse them to the point of breaking, fixes the beautiful thing, and then almost breaks it again.
He views her as an object instead of a person.
Cayena blames her brother the prince bc he straight up sold her off and never rescued her when he knew she was getting beat to a bloody pulp.
And in my other message I forgot to confirm that yes this is her second time living as the princess.
She doesn't want to just be manipulated by her brother anymore (hence the marionette reference to her being a puppet on a string). She wants to live her own life which she feels can only be accomplished away from her brother Rezef.

The art here is amazing but the storyline is all broken and rushed.
If it's unclear mc lived as princess and died, reincarnated in Korea and died, then woke up again as princess right after poisoning but now with knowledge from reading the book. (Like how she told Raphael about the fiancees & how she knows he hates to be touched)
There's so much more detail in the web novel that gives mc so much depth.
I know its on light novel world.
It's an amazing storyline that this beautifully drawn Manahua just isn't giving justice to.
