But why does she need to do so much of it during such a chaotic time? She's already invested money, and she's gotten her father and potentially her fiance to invest too. She's not a good planner, she's not balancing her time well, and she clearly can't focus on both at once. Her friend could just as easily take on some of this stuff and they offered. They could also rope in the second ml to help. This is also still in the planning phase so there's no schedule to follow. They could just postpone some of it until after the wedding.
My guess is she's getting cold feet. She still loves the duke and she's ready, but marriage is a huge step with a lot of life changes. It can be intimidating, so she's subconsciously putting it off.
I mean, why do they need to get married during such a chaotic time? The stress on Etoile and her father isn't going to wait, but the wedding can.
Also, Ripley isn't planning the project, she's designing the packing, which she has shown talent for. Is Will a good draftsman? He stood them up the last time they needed his help anyway.
Or, Wild Thinking: Zeronis could plan his own fucking wedding! He's the one pressing for it , but no one seems to be complaining that he's still focusing on his business affair. Kind of a double standard.
But anyway, They've been officially engaged for like 5 chapters, so he can chill. In Ripley's time, engagements typically last a year or longer, so it makes sense that she wouldn't be in a rush. To me, it seems like the duke is the scared one--like he's trying to lock the marriage down before she gets away again lol
Geronis is preparing his part of the wedding preparations. The bride's wardrobe should be handled by the bride. As the duke he's very busy-- but he still took his time to do his part and visit Ripley, which Ripley failed on her part because she just can't multitask well. But well in the next couple chapters she'll be able to finish everything eventually, the duke was patient(kinda lol) with her so there's that.
But yes that last statement, you are definitely correct. He is trying to bind Ripley with him ASAP lmao.
I mean, I like the Duke, but yeah, I can *definitely* blame him. Apparently in his time, sleeping with someone once equals marriage, so the fact that he slept with Ripley while she was drunk is FuCkED. Drunk people aren't able to consent for sex, LET ALONE for marriage, so i do blame him, because he forced that major life decision on her. Honestly, seems fair to act little erratic when a man is threatening to have you beheaded if you don't marry him. ( ̄へ ̄)
Sorry duke, I'mma have to side on Ripley with this one: Ensuring the financial wellbeing of her family and closest friend are more important than having a pretty wedding ceremony
