Wtffff there really are people like this that are beyond the internet?? She's so embarrassing I'm so sorryyyyyyyy. I feel like these people are the ines that fetishize mlm and its disgusting uggghhh I kinda feel like apologizing on behalf of her. I promise you we aren't all like that they are just really loud like REALLY loud and out there like trump supporters.
pls that is so disgusting :/ i'm glad you said EX-friends because honestly it's no good to associate yourself with people like that. she's what we call a "fetishizer" smh. also i'm really sorry you had to go through the dysphoria bc of her, that's awful. she's part of the people who give the BL-reading community an awful reputation, it's such a disgrace. honestly there's nothing you can do about people like that. i'm not a woman but i haven't told people that so when i talk to some of my guy friends about the women im into (im pan and mainly attracted to women), they're like "ahhh lesbian porn is in my head rn" like stfu u dumbfuck, no wonder ur erection is never and will never be satisfied by anything except ur own fucking hand.
You are definitely not an asshole for not reading straight or gl stuff bro, that's like saying straight people are problematic for reading straight romance (which is simply not tru). I mean you're reading bl and you're literally a gay man I don't know how that could be problematic like at all. Honestly fuck your friend though good thing you're not friends anymore, I feel the intense need to punch her in the nose
AHHHHHHHHH i dont know you or that girl but holy shit she is one weird ass "friend", scratch friend, she is a complete asshole don't feel bad calling her that.
Why is SHE getting pissy when you read BL? It's none of her business?? NEITHER IS YOUR SEX LIFE HELLO-?? From what you have said, she is complete scum and I'm fucking pained you know her and call her as a friend. GOOD she's now a ex friend, she never cared for you beyond your gender and your sexual orientation.
And regarding your question whether you're an asshole for not reading straight or GL romance: NO!!! NEVERRRRRRR T-T You're entitled to what you like and what you don't like, READ WHATEVER MAKES YOU COMFYYY, that is so important.
Also that part where she made you, an actual gay man, feel "weird" for simply being yourself but put BL on a pedestal is.. hilarious and sad to me, girl please get a life outside of being weird and invading people's privacy-
Obviously there's nothing wrong with reading BL, whether you're a woman, man, whatever gender or sexuality you are BUT the problem appears when you simply can't be a decent human being and not treat real life people with their own lives and thoughts as your puppet.
BL is not meant to be a "realistic guide" for gay men and does not in any way give you the right to fetishize mlm relationships. D:<
Anyways, I hope you can still be comfortable reading what YOU like and god forbid you actually meet another person like that again, they are scummy as hell and I hope the girl matures and realizes the shit she does is simply not okay D:
Have a good day, and a virtual hug through the screen <3 or a handshake is that's okay with you :D
Okay I'll try to be nice. Being together means you're in love in each other, or you share some good ideas abt each other. So bam! You got together. Of course the sexual adaptation, skin harmony and many other things are important BUT if hetero people not only going out with each other for sexual needs, LGBTI+s are not too. So, if you love somebody, you wouldn't care about their preference in bed. And yeah, there're people out there that they break up cause they can't decide which one should be de top/bottom, BUT it's not the only thing they think in their relationship. Just think in your own way, if your partner would be asexual, what would you do? Would you just break up with them? I hope the answer is No (but it's still your choice ofc). Anyways, other than this, if we talk about gay/lesbian people they can always switch.
The thing is, generally, hetero people thinks there's only one way to have sex. Actually sex is about feelings, penetration is not necessary in every relationship.
Sorry if i had sounded rude but I've tried to explain in a plain way as much as i can. I might be wrong in some points too, so everyone can correct me.
I'm gay and one of my now ex friends yelled at me for reading bl mangas instead of reading straight stuff or gl? While she had an entire account of shipping her straight male friends together and when myself and my boyfriend got together a few years ago she basically just yelled "i knew it" and then made me extremely dysphoric by asking my boyfriend if he's ever fucked me in my ... I don't even really feel bottom dysphoria but still, she reads BL manga and acts like they are the fucking bible, it's really fucking weird and she creeps me out sometimes, she treats me like i'm a weirdo for being gay but then when she sees two straight friends she acts like it really is a bl manga? Am i the asshole for not reading gl or straight mangas? As bad as some bls can be i still like the representation and i'd feel uncomfortable seeing romance mangas that often have sex in them including body parts that i'm not attracted to (there were some parts of the story that you didn't rly need to know but i used so you could get a grip on the type of person she is)
adding 2 things
1st thanks everyone for the kind comments
2nd i was 15 when she made the sex comment, i'm now 18, i wasn't even the legal consent age in my country (16) when she asked me that
