Like she is pretty far from what a mary sue is. TBH I love her so I am biased but I did study the mechanics of mary sue's in literature in a class forever ago so I think I have a leg to stand on

ok so a Mary Sue is a female character that will nearly always be described as "plain yet gorgeous" that tends to do absolutely bonkers amazing things because of sheer luck or natural talent. Reality literally warps reality to make her seem amazing, making previously amazing people seem useless so she can shine brighter. Rey in the recent star wars films is a good example of this, as is Mulan in the new movie, and Captain Marvel (in movie). They are incredibly boring with practically no character flaws to speak of who know everything and can accomplish everything.
