That would be impossible. The land is a dessert and there's no river nor ocean near it so flood is most likely impossible. Will I guess heavy rain will pour down tho.

The dry soil became hydrophobic that's why it repels water instead of absorbing it.

I didn't expect soil to discriminate against one of it's main sources of nutrition just cause it was dry
