Yeah i think so too. He did mention that a way to purify is to get as physically close as possible like kissing or drawing blood. And maybe when they're too corrupted, they may end up literally eating the purifier.
Me: still waiting for the cannibalism aspect to appear. I swear I thought literally eating the body of purifiers would be a thing.
