Sorry for bothering anyone but by now I’m just that desperate okay
Solve each of the given inequalities for z. Which of the inequalities have 1 as a solution?
Inequality 1: 2(2.9z+3.5)<30.2
Inequality 2: 4(1.5z+1.25)_>-7.0

Also the teacher wants me to show my work

    2(2.9z + 3.5) < 30.2 <=> (2.9z + 3.5) < 30.2/2 = 15.1
    <=> 2.9z < 15.1-3.5 = 11.6
    <=> z < 11.6/2.9 = 4
    So z < 4

    the second Iequality: 4(1.5z+1.25) > -7 <=> 1.5z + 1.25 > -7/4 <=> z > -(7/4-1.25)/1.5 = -2
    So z > -2.

    Both have 1 as solution.

    What does "_>" mean btw? Anyway, inequalities work almost the same as equation, unless you are dividing or multiplying by a negative number.

    Let's solve your inequality step-by-step.
    2(2.9z+3.5)<30.2
    Step 1: Simplify both sides of the inequality.
    5.8z+7<30.2
    Step 2: Subtract 7 from both sides.
    5.8z+7−7<30.2−7
    5.8z<23.2
    Step 3: Divide both sides by 5.8.
    5.8z
    5.8
    <
    23.2
    5.8
    z<4
    Answer:
    z<4
    And
    4(1.5z+1.25)≥−7
    Step 1: Simplify both sides of the inequality.
    6z+5≥−7
    Step 2: Subtract 5 from both sides.
    6z+5−5≥−7−5
    6z≥−12
    Step 3: Divide both sides by 6.
    6z
    6

    −12
    6
    z≥−2
    Answer:
    z≥−2

    Inequality 1: 2(2.9z + 3.5) < 30.2 ---> 5.8z + 7 < 30.2 ---> 5.8z < 23.2 ---> divide 5.8 with 23.2 ---> z<4

    Inequality 2: 4(1.5z + 1.25) _> -7.0 ---> 6z + 5 _> -7.0 ---> 6z _> -12 ---> divide 6 with -12 ---> z _> -2

    Hopes this helps but I never got 1 as a solution for both inequalities ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

    you got 1 as solution for both, no? the solution intervals both include 1.

    I'm sorry it's been a while since I've done this and now that you mention it yes, the solution intervals both include 1. Thanks for the correction! This was fun lol!

    Lol there was this one time a while ago where I was having a mental breakdown cause all the other places where I was looking for help was no help at all so I just came here and somebody actually answered me and helped me get the right answer. In the end the only thing that helped me out of all the places I went to was Wattpad and Mangago . And the subject was about 7th grade Punnett square Word problems¯_(ツ)_/¯
