Lester knows how she feels, thats why he has said anything about it. He knows that she knows and he also knows she doesn't reciprocate.
I think it’s cause people think that since he gave her the opportunity, she should be expected to return his feelings, like it’s in a romance novel(ironic lol) however, he only gave her the opportunity and she had worked her butt off to get to where she’s at. She’s also already basically “paid him back” with the success of his shop currently. she doesn’t have to return his feelings if she doesn’t want to, and it wasn’t just because a guy helped her that she was able to succeed.
I don’t like Lester as the ml but I don’t hate his character either lol XD the age gap is just too big for me, and he did watch her grow up while he was still an adult, so it’s just sus lol.

Its so dangerous to say that since lester was by her side, yuri "owes" him love. You don't "owe" anything to anyone because of reasons like that, it's not like she took out a loan from him and now she needs to pay his money back. That's not how romantic love works, or any kind of love honestly, and romanticizing that makes these damaging ideas seem ok to young people.
Lester was an established adult when they had their first meeting, while yuri was an impoverished child. Never mind the imbalance of power and wealth, the deal she had to make, and the trauma he caused her to have-
he was literally there seeing her grow up in real time, basically nurturing her like a sibling or a parent might, and had no place to be developing feelings for a child who was more or less bound to him. It's weird even if he did wake up and magically liked her the day she turned 18. It's weird even if they're not blood related. How does a lester and yuri ship even make sense-

I know that she received her success by her own hardwork. But it's not like Lester didn't help her! Yes.. probably it's also Lester's fault for not explained her situation if she become a woman merchant with that kind of society! Honestly I think Lester deserve someone better. It's not like I think she's suppose to sacrifice her happiness but make it clear for him and how you truly feel for him. And Lester I hope he can be more understanding towards MC and let's her go her own way.
