i think this is b4 when shuli go back to past where she didnt have good relationship with the children
im not sure but i think they’re doing a flashback of where the kids were mean never really hated Shuli cause they obviously loved her but she thinks they do. but the church is using Shuli as a surrogate to take control bc Jermey will be sad at her death and he’s the head of the “golden lion” family now and he never said she couldn’t go to the wedding. so in the NOW it’s the same but different in a way.
The Neuschwanstein family that Shuli is apart of is extremely powerful and influential. Johannes, Shuli's husband, was supporting the royal family and therefore was against the church and its growing power. After Johannes died, the church took this as an opportunity to then try to use Shuli as a pawn in order to gain the family's support. However she became the one obstacle to stand in their way so they then needed to use the eldest son as their pawn by making him very naive and ignorant, basically unable to think for himself or the family. Also the Church wants to rule the empire and be stronger than the royal family. (Sorry if this doesn't make sense)

Ok can anyone explain to me wtf happening? My English seems to be not enough to get the plot. Shuli is going on with her duties. Kids are growing. What does church and all these old fucks want? Why the want to kill Shuli? There was a chapter, which showed the past (before Shuli reincarnated), where kids actually wanted to make up with her. And ever since I’m confused as hell ╥﹏╥
