you have to keep in mind that even tho you have had similar situations not everyone reacts the same as you. my mother was abused by her cousin for years and she never moved an inch when he was around her. knowing those around you (as we see from the crown prince) will not help you and ignore your screams and having been in that situation is traumatising to say for anyone let alone someone who, even tho they might act as an 18 year old sometimes, is still really a 7 year old frail little girl. She may annoy you for how she acts because you wouldnt do it that exact way but that doesnt mean that its unrealistic, unreasonable or not valid.
I'm getting kinda annoyed with the storyline... she was abused for a whole decade, i get it. the only excuse is that she didn't mentally age from age 7 during the abuse since her inner thoughts refers to herself as "a bad child" - but sometimes she acts like 17 yr old - it's a bit wishy washy.
and i have social anxiety disorder and have been physically abused from my brother too but if i were given a chance to fight for my life with such high chances of running away.. I'd be kicking and screaming, or negotiating, not waiting in a carriage with my kidnapper until sundown.
is the storytelling just bad??? maybe they need to emphasize more on her trauma and less on her "will to escape" bc her will is looking pretty weak right now...
