Well, technically he fell in in love with his personality. Since he has the power to understand what birds say it's logical that he kinda humanizes them cause he talks and interacts with them as if they were people. If it was not the case, he wouldn't fall in love with a regular bird of course lol THAT would be creepy in my opinion
