Hmmm,I remembered abortion,but I'm not sure.It could have been a miscarriage.
But it's probably a miscarriage,since the injuries where so awful that she was basically dead.

woah... I'm reading the translation of the novel so I knew she was learj in ng to use magic but I didn't know about the miscarriage and her getting mistreated by her dad once again.. this is actually disheartening.

Btw, before all of this she and Riftan in the novel get to talk a bit about theirself, their like and dislike. She gets to tell Riftan the she actually likes and admires him (since he was still wondering if she was unhappy with him) and he ask her what she likes about him and she drops a bunch of good adjectives (about how she think he is smart and handsome etc.) that he did not expect from her (e.g. he mentions he was never called smart), while they sit close under a tree. (aww the fluffy)
On a different note, on that occasion she also mentions to him that she hates her self, but she doesn't explain anything more about that.

So this is from spoilers I've read:
the novel is not finished yet,so no spoilers about the ending.
Maxi will become a magician and goes to magic tower for 3 years.
Her stuttering becomes a lot better,to the point of not existing.As for her personality she becomes bolder gradually.
And about Riftan.He loved her since long ago.He first sees her when they were kids and that's when he starts loving her.And because of their difference in status,he works really hard to marry her.So it wasn't like her human garbage of a dad forces him to marry her,he actually wanted it.Although he wasn't happy that they had to get married like that.
As for other spoilers:
There is a war going on and Maxi(after she becomes a magician)secretly follows Riftan to war,saves a lot of people but gets soooo badly injured that she has an abortion she didn't know that she was even pregnant and Riftan doesn't tell her because what can she do now?
One thing lead to another and after this she goes back with her bitch dad.
He was angry at her because of her abortion and starts torturing her,then Riftan comes and some shit goes down.
As to why this mother fucker is angry with her abortion:
The second daughter married the crown prince and king mocks him that with maxi's abortion,the second daughter probably has some problems too.And the shittiest part is that the second daughter wasn't living a happy life either.Motherfucker has tortured her in other ways.
I just know that Riftan beats the shit out of him but he is still alive.
But fingers cross,hope he just hurry the fuck up and dies.
