She is pregnant from Allan, the Duke's son. Technically speaking they both are infertile because of the cookies but when she marries King Henry he has this bed.. forget how they mentioned it in the novel.. that could help fix any problems. It was also believed since women hit puberty at a certain age the cookies didnt affect her only the emperor. So yes. When Navier gets pregnant that's when he starts connecting the dots about him being infertile, and that's when he starts questioning Trashta's baby and that's when shit hits the fan.
wait a minute.... isn't Allan the man she already had a child with then?! i thought she hated and avoided him after running away. How the F did she end up sleeping with him again?! I don't get this dumb woman...
to tell you the truth after i read all the spilers of it not being the kings child i thought it was the man who hangs out with Trashta all the time and plants all kind of dumb ideas in her head (Like her becoming an Empress herself)
Was his name Ergi (apearantly Heinleys friend)? What is his deal?
It's been awhile since I read the novel but I was shocked too. I thought the same thing. She must've been pregnant before she ran away, that's what I'm guessing. I didn't read far in the novel and I don't know if its explained or not. And nope.. I forgot what that guys deal was but Henry obviously didnt want Navier to get so close to him
