BUT!! apart from that, i really loved this. definitely in my top favorite webtoons of all time. i give 5 stars only to my absolute favorite stories, and this one certainly deserved that, this was amazing. i get that a lot of people were mad at the black haired guy for hurting his boyfriend because of his insecurities, but i want to remind everyone that he loved his whole life pretty much abused by his father. i can definitely relate to his problems, while also seeing that he's wrong. i want to cheer him on, while i also don't. obviously he has trust issues and a lot of other issues, mainly be cause of his father and stepmother. i loved the way they both actually had realistic and relatable problems, the jealousy really felt realistic, unlike many other stories i've read. really such a beautiful and great story. can't even put in words hoe much i loved this story, will certainly be re-reading this one more times. thank you to the author for creating this masterpiece of a story.
perhaps in real life yes. but i'm talking about the story. hmmm it's hqrd to explain, since english is not my native language, but let's say, for example, some people write r*pe fics (which i do not like at all, but since it's fiction you can't really police it). it's specifically written to be a messed up story, not taking anyone's feelings in account. a story like this, with a plot and all (plus no trigger warnings or anything) has a different target audience. the weird fics have their target audience, while this has a wide audience of shounen ai enjoyers. does it make sense? i might make a better response later, since it's nearly 1 am and my brain is also shutting down :D
Good point. I didn't realize this until your comment, but when I was reading it, I felt like the author was not trying to romanticize suicide. I guess the scene where the half sister is actually the hero for the MC was not focused enough (this was my POV).
I see where you are coming from with your point. Completely valid point!
Sidenote, this manhwa definitely in my favorites (prob top 10-20 ish). I didn't have any high expectations before reading this manhwa tbh.
the only thing i REALLY disliked about the story is the way the author kind of romanticized the mc's suicide. i understand WHY the mc did it, but the way the other dude (I'm really bad with names LMAO SORRY) literally walked in on him just as he failed his first attempt and the way it kinda boosted their romance just left a bad taste in my mouth. stuff like suicide and mental illnesses need to be portrayed VERY carefully in fiction, this is the reason why, for example, so many people hate 13 reasons why. because it was a bad portrayal of suicide and actually left a lot of people triggered (hate that word because of the right smfh) and messed up people's mental health way more than helped them. but that's just my opinion, i'm not a certified doctor or anything, just thought there was a better way to approach such a serious topic
