It's 'cause to most Americans the good ol' USA is the only country that exists. Everything else is just a distant extension of America and has to abide by their laws and morals.

It's not closed minded incest is inherently bad for reasons beyond genetic mutations. I'm okay with reading this because it's just a story with some drawings but real life incest is not okay (minus like those step- sibling/ step cousin relations that started before they became family)

Yeah if there's a direct blood relation but if it's a distant relative or someone who was married into the family then there's nothin' to really worry about.

I just said there are reasons incest is bad for reasons other than genetic mutations. Like yeah if you start dating someone and then find out you share a grandpa from like 5 generations past that's weird but it's not horrible and its fine for them to stay together. no i don't like incest, it's not okay. Also, if it was really that bad then how come there are countries that are functionin' just as well and if not better than the US that allow laws like marrying distant relatives? You can't base everythin' off of an article you found on google.

Yeah tbh i don't really care about whether or not yall are reading this do whatever in your private time, but literally almost every species (including plants) has either a psychological or physical defense mechanism keeping them from incest. Obviously i know most things are case by case, but there are reasons why we have those defense mechanisms, it's to protect us psychologically and to protect humans bloodline genetically. Also incest between the same sex is still as wrong as two people who can procreate. I'm not on a moral high horse for saying that other than a few exceptions, if you have a blood relative who you grew up with and you decide to fuck them thats super weird. As to what you mean by countries that allow it, i don't wanna get into that because there's a lot of social issues that go into allowing that to happen and tbh I'm not insensitive as to criticize a country for their issues.
