This person is right. Even if it was expected, you never know where the story will actually go. There are victims of sexual abuse/assault themselves who genuinely suffer from varying levels of ptsd, so you can't just be like "It was nothing/ he didn't even rape him/it's no big deal", "just don't read it " because it's not hard to put a small trigger warning at the top of a page (most editors do that) and what if they really enjoy the story so far and want to keep reading it though the rape scenes do disturb them? How do you know it's not a big deal to the person reading? Anyways, the replies above were not IT. So disappointing, let's try to be more understanding.

I don't think anyone reading this was forced to do so. It's just a matter of this person sharing their opinion and me agreeing with it. The attempted rape scene didn't bother me as a sufferer of ptsd and victim of sexual abuse but I can see from the pov of op that there should have been a warning added.
