But him saying he loves her more than his mom can mean something totally different not once has he said he sees her as a mother figure so there is no reason to be uncomfortable and you can tell he has like her since he was young but as he got older he is starting to understand he feeling so I see no problem

True but this is a one-sided things it him that likes her not the other way around she is trying to make sure he doesn't kill and get with another women not once has she showed signs of being in love with him but the way the story is going when he gets older his is gonna try and win her heart while she is pushing for him to love some else and it not uncommon for people to get into a relationship with their caretaker (not related) but most of the time it's one sided and they look for other people that are just like the person they first like. And buying someone a dog and plant doesn't mean anything cause she could have bought him a book as well but I kinda get what your referencing.

Just cuz she reached him doesn't necessarily mean she can't fall in love with him. But that's not the case he's in love with her.
