This story is so ridiculously dumb, that I am in awe of it's ability to be stupid.
The girl especially is just completely and utterly stupid. Pregnant by another man, this stupid woman goes and buys a vacation home that originally (and still does) belong to royalty that she already knew intimately. She does this through some random unknown 3rd party which she supposedly thinks is reliable enough to give her entire inheritance and take out loans to give to him so she can make a bed and breakfast there. Keep in mind This is all when she knows she is pregnant she is putting herself in the hole financially and over straining her body without care for the consequences all for her own impulsive selfishness.
Not even thinking about the child's well being is a common theme throughout the story. She has 0 motherly instincts. She is only concerned with herself and her love life.
Then in walks her ex-boyfriend who is the actual rightful owner. Even after she finds out she was swindled she acts entitled. Deciding she is tired and goes to bed without talking it out and without even asking the true owner of the house if she could continue to use it. If it was me I would have called the police if she refused to go. After all, it's not his fault or problem that she was swindled. Yet being the gentleman type, he just goes along with her and she continues working on her plans for a bed and breakfast. Inviting herself into his home and life without any shame.
She gets all twisted up inside about the pregnancy not saying a word until she absolutely must. All this time he is wooing her. Then instead of being happy that the guy excepts her child and wants to be with her, which is, by the way, more than most men in his situation would do, she get's upset reading into things negatively instead of being happy that he excepts a child even though he has no true obligation to her or the child. He discloses his own emotional trauma to her, that he lost the ability to have children of his own. Something that she should comfort him about since she claims to love him. However instead, she internalizes his trauma, turning it around, and making it all about her. Deciding mentally that he just wants the baby and not her. Because of her extremely warped view she continues to brood. Putting her child in danger because of her own stupidity. How this guy could desire someone like this is beyond me.
