If you guys haven't read the authors other story Shi Yi Lu yet you should! It's a prequel to this one! It has some chapters that were omitted from the main story. You'll see (if I understood it right) the smiling Tang person from the latest chapters and his interaction with the princess from when they were young. It will explain why he said she was "haughty" and basically insulted her to her face lol.
