It's actually interesting how rare switches are in the yaoi world but when i watch western/european movies and to actual gay people, switching was so natural that it makes the who-gets-to-bottom/top drama in comics seem like a joke lol
Right?? The "equality" aspect, where the characters don't necessarily need to be tied to gender roles, is actually one of the main appeals of BL for me, and switch couples are the epitome of that. And I've also heard that it's very common in the real world so I don't get why they can't incorporate it more into BL manga/manhwa. It feels like they all try to follow some kind of template of how tops and bottoms should be. And that they are trying to force straightness onto the BL genre (which is very unnecessary since if I wanted to read something straight I wouldn't read BL to begin with lol). Feels quite disrespectful to real gay people as well.
Anyway, there are so many other crazy and messed up things that are commonplace in BL (mpreg, rape rape and more rape, tentacles (lol) etc.) but for some reason a natural consensual switch is like too much?? ╥﹏╥
PLEASE let this be a switch couple! I'm begging you! I love reversibles so much but they are almost non-existent! Since it hurt so much I would like to see them try if the other way works better! (づ￣ ³￣)づ
