i was thinking they feel out bc they must of seen her magic or whatever (idk) when she was young and us scared bc she was to powerful or whatever ( if im wrong sorry)
it's a possibility but If I remember it correctly it was said that halfway through her pregnancy their honey-flavored and rose-tinted relationship already broke down and only turned for the worst when the FL was born. maybe infidelity could be the reason at first then maybe the appearance of her powers just made it worst. but who knows, the recent chapters was lacking and didn't explain much about their issues.

Doubtful. I don’t think the author would have taken the time to give them the same green eyes if that were the case. Plus they made it a point to explain that her father is a strong mage and therefore, he’s the one she inherited her powers from.
oooooooh so maybe that's the reason why the parents' relationship fell out after pregnancy, Mer might not be the child of the father... but her eyes looked like his though so HOW? hmmmmmmmm.... that's the only reason I could think of why the father neglected the mother and child during pregnancy and onwards.
