No he's not insane, he's only a child and his mom has manipulated him so much throughout his life even though hes technically free his brain is trying so hard to process the trauma he ends up gas lighting and blaming himself
They're both insane. I just feel bad for the dad or maybe he's also insane idk shit is confusing as hell
