I've read some comments here saying “stop reading if you care so much about rape” and “it's common in yaoi, get over it”, but criticizing a series doesn't mean you don't like it. I've enjoyed it so far, but I know the MCs relationship is not a healthy one. They have cute moments and I'm rooting for them, but it's not healthy.
For the “it’s common in yaoi” part, don't you think it's sad? I've started looking more and more for healthy and romantic pairs in yaoi, without the tiring one sex scene per capter, cuz sometimes I just want something fluffy and healthy! Imagine if all shojo was that rapey! :(
As someone who's started reading yaoi already ten years ago, I think it's important to criticize this thing (but not judge), so the teenagers here know that you can see the flaws in a series you like and still like it. (And I know half of you are teenagers, I was one too hahaha)
If you’ve made it to the end of my rant, thank you! Hahaha
Omgg thank you!! I hate that people here dismiss the toxic/unconsensual stuff just cus it’s fiction:/ and esp since so many readers are so young they’ll definitely get influenced and maybe even start believing stuff like that is ok:((
I agree but uh, theres a reason why YAOI and SHOUNEN AI are in a different genre? The same as SHOUJO and JOSEI are also different?? Shoujo = Shounen AiJosei = YaoiJosei and Yaoi are for Mature audiences that can... Dimension Breaker
Shoujo = Shounen Josei = Seinen Shoujo ai = Shounen Ai Yuri = Yaoi
You right but you can't compare Yaoi and shojo because yaoi is basically porn... And if you compare it with mature straight story it's similar but yaoi are less bad in my opinion
I hope you you can understand because English is not my first language ╥﹏╥
I couldn't agree with you more. Im also an adult now, I've had my teenager phases but rape never sits well with me. Consent is still a must even after marriage. What people should be normalizing must be "consent". Imagine being married to someone manipulative af.
