No one said it was real life :) I know it’s fiction. But, as I said to the person above, given that so many people get introduced to the world of BDSM through fiction, it’d be nice to get some proper representation every now and then to avoid the pertaining stigma of violence and toxicity that the community gets.
adding on to what @Howl said to @Coolicefun: i made the distinction between fictional and real life because all too often readers try out what they read and get themselves into unsafe situations that could otherwise be prevented. also because this isnt a good representation, there might be outlier consequences where someone might be stuck in an abusive relationship with the same elements of the story and they might think normalise it because they see it in a story. What I'm hoping my message could convey is that this story is fine to enjoy, but protect yourselves when trying out BDSM or playing with a partner!
now, to reply to @Howl: i agree :( tbh portrayal of BDSM done properly and well is really fulfilling to read about too.
bad representation of real BDSM :<
