Totally agree but I'm sure if u conduct a survey u'll find out there is a lot, and I mean a lot, of them who are possessive and obsessive, they don't like no one else to touch their shit once they claim it doesn't matter if it's a human or not what's theirs is theirs and if it so happens that it can leave on it's own they will find a way to tie it does down.

I'm a total possessive and obsessive story enthusiast and from experience all these years, physical abuse upon the object of it, is where everything goes down and everyone should draw the line.
Uh isolating him from his friends and family? Understandable.
Beating up everyone who shows interest in him? Understandable.
Raping him because he did somewhat of a wrong thing? Understandable.
Manipulating and brainwashing him so he can never leave you? Understandable.
But actually calling a group of people or doing the deed itself to beat up the said person so he never wanna leave you BITCH THROW THE FUCKING TRASH

But reasoning is definitely not the answer for people who are wired differently from most. Their brains are modeled differently so they can't think like us so everything I've said is somewhat reasonable for such a person and I can perfectly why they did it but actual physical abuse?!
