Nothing more I hate than a talented storyteller that decides to weave an overly complicated and dramatic story. Harem needs to be added to the genre; another pointless machination.

It's also not that complicated, nor is it pointless. It's a historical drama with pretty accurate sinocentric undertones, and all the friendship she forges have political implications.

it's a little bit of a reverse harem just bc a lot of people fall for Shuurei (but it never goes anywhere with anyone). I LOVE THIS ANIME/MANGA and would definitely recommend watching it bc the manga only goes up to volume 9 in english
