It’s not about that, at the beginning they were both playing with each other, but he always care about him
it wasnt intentional on his part though. in the beginning he thought staying like that was better for their relationship (both for him and haesoo). he did take haesoo's presence for granted in the sense that he thought haesoo would stay with him even though they werent official. HOWEVER: even tho they werent official... he still showed haesoo a lot of affection and care when he could: telling him he misses him, wanting to hold his hand, cuddle while sleeping tgt, getting hs a ring: all of which haesoo often denied, and convinced himself that jw didnt mean any of those actions. jw also tried to protect haesoo in his own way, but he just didnt think things through
